MANTERO

At Mantero, everything begins on the shores of Lake Como, in 1902.

A small Italian family business decided to devote itself to a material that is almost magical: silk. Not just any silk. The most beautiful, the most luminous — the kind that slips through your fingers and catches the light like nothing else.

Very quickly, the house became a true laboratory of colours and patterns. It is said that in their workshops, drawings began piling up by the hundreds, then by the thousands. Even today, Mantero holds an extraordinary textile archive, with patterns collected over more than a century. Some date back to the 1920s, others to the 1960s… and any of them may reappear one day in a collection, revisited with a contemporary eye.

For a long time, the house remained a well-kept secret of many major luxury brands, for whom it developed fabrics and prints. Which is to say that at Mantero, textile craftsmanship is taken very seriously — even if the result always feels light and joyful.

And then one day, the house decided that these wonders should not remain simply fabrics or scarves. The prints began to travel onto shirts, dresses, fluid trousers and silk ensembles, always with the same idea in mind: clothes that move, that live.
