At Psophia, it all begins with a woman who has never liked doing things the conventional way.
Its founder, Paloma Vázquez de Castro, a Spaniard based in Madrid, grew up surrounded by fabrics, colours and a certain idea of elegance — one that feels a little freer. Her obsession? Creating clothes with real personality… without ever taking themselves too seriously.
A little anecdote we particularly like: the name Psophia comes from Latin and means “the sound of fabric rustling.”That subtle whisper a beautiful textile makes when you move. In a way, everything is already there: movement, texture, life.
From the very beginning, the brand has cultivated this slightly unruly spirit. A perfectly cut shirt… but with an unexpected volume. A dress that seems quite proper at first glance… only to become striking when you turn around. At Psophia, clothes enjoy surprising you.
The fabrics are chosen with great care, often rather spectacular: crisp cottons, luminous silks, delicate embroideries. And the volumes? A little theatrical, perhaps — but always worn with that relaxed Spanish nonchalance that makes it all feel effortless.
