Lemonade and daiquiri

Diabolo et daiquiri

HOORAY, summer is finally here.
You want saturated colours, tanned people and a good ice cream for a snack.

In between, you run to the Jeu de Paume Museum in Paris to see the Martin Parr exhibit.

If you don’t know about Martin Parr, he is an English photographer who works mostly with the flash — even outside. The result: pictures with icing, pop, acid look, almost unreal.
With his “so British” eye, he captures very kitsch situations, sometimes absurd, and, on the way, he makes the most of the opportunity to criticise with irony and humour overconsumption and mass tourism.

Martin Parr reminds us of something fundamental: style isn’t about perfection.
To have style, you need daring, being alive, being in the moment, having fun and living in four colours: from swimming-pool blue to mayonnaise yellow, from ketchup red to lemonade green…

Well, Martin, at Victoire, we think exactly as you do!

Then this week, let’s stand by your style: prints with personality, saturated almost chemical colours, joyful and off-the-wall silhouettes, details that make you smile… A sunburn, a couple of ice cubes, a good amount of laughing and self-mockery, and you have the perfect summer cocktail.

Have a nice weekend,
Camille
