Douliou Douliou… Saint-Tropez

Douliou Douliou… Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez is not quite the little fishermen’s village that we loved, since the invasion of luxury brands, major jewellers and watchmakers, and dozens of Parisian restaurants…

Thankfully, one week a year still resists to this invasion: the week of Les Voiles in Saint-Tropez.

During Les Voiles, Saint-Tropez gets its former joyful mix & match back. In the harbour, yachts mix with old sailing ships and state-of-the-art racing ships. During the day, many take part in the regatta and the competition goes at Place des Lices, where pétanque balls are back in use. Even Saint-Tropez inhabitants are included in the festivities; it has really been three months since we last saw them…

From the outside seating area of the Sube, you can look at the crews walking by. And you must confess, nothing is more beautiful than a man (or a woman) wearing a uniform. Then, you run to the Village des Voiles or to Les Halles to sip the last glass of rosé of the season…

The most audacious will end up with the sailors until dawn. Nevertheless, beware to keep the helm: a sailor never abandons ship!

For me too, this weekend, the race is on, between Paris Fashion Week and the fairs. In Paris too, costumes are out…

Saint-Tropez, I will make up for my absence in Octobre at the Saint-Tropez braderie. Very nice too! Will you be there?

Have a nice weekend,
Camille

PS: Our shops on boulevard Louis-Blanc will be open nonstop from 10 AM to 7:30 PM, because at Victoire we also know how to party!
