We spent the entire week thinking about it, did we?
About water. About the sea. About a swimming pool. About a lake.
We used a spray bottle, we drank, fanned ourselves, took baths, been wet… to your heart’s content.
We watched the Louis Vuitton fashion show, the giant wave at Cité Universitaire. We criticised it. It is so hot outside!
We looked for some shade, some air conditioning, the slightest hint of breeze.
We looked at the cave on the Pont-Neuf with its snow-capped mountains, like a cool break. We also criticised it. “Have you seen the queue just to enter?”
It is so hot outside!
“Are you ok? Isn’t it too hot?”
It is a heatwave, then Paris is grumpy, Paris complains, Paris takes a breather and saves their energy for any physical effort. Survival instinct.
Then, Paris awakes.
The Fête de la Musique. Groups of teenagers who dive carefreely in the Saint-Martin canal. They are so happy. All go take a shower!
Go France!
I write you these few lines right before the World Cup match between France and Norway. Tonight, Les Bleus are facing the Far North… Here’s something that could cool us down!
Have a nice weekend,
Camille
