I am in a light mood today, I’m singing. It is summer, the private sales continue, and I write you this little billet-doux before I go to the “Splash”, the fair specialized in the “resortwear”.
In short, life is beautiful.
I think it is also because I have decided to talk to you about one of my favorite designers, il maestro Alessandro Gherardeschi.
Alessandro is Italian, and he works with Cinzia, his lovely wife. He creates hand painted, hand embroidered or hand patched shirts, dresses, jeans, or shorts in Prato, Italy.
You are going to tell me: “Ok, but until now, nothing new under the sun!”
And yet… This gentleman is a poet, he transforms everything he touches in a breath of fresh air. He works his unique pieces with humor, creativity, candidness, and especially a lot of flowers. He is always scared of being copied, Alessandro, and yet there is no risk, because he puts his soul into every piece of clothing he designs.
He has a true fan club at Victoire, with those who collect his hand painted shirts. Some have more than 10 of them, but love means giving without limits, and it is easy to fall in love with Gherardeschi.
