Family business
The azulejos…

As you know, at Victoire, it is always about a family history.
You are used to hear me talk about Gilles, Victoire’s founder (and my dad). Gilles is a joyful septuagenarian in great shape, always available when I ask him for advice, for a helping hand, or to look after his grandchildren. He is semi-retired in a way, but with a diverse and full schedule, in part because of me, but most of all well-deserved!
No, today we are going to talk — briefly — about my brother. He is a one-of-a-kind man, talented, a citizen of the world, who never settles anywhere else than in places near the seaside. It is his life rule.
One year ago, I went on a family trip to see him in Lisboa where he had set up home — for a time. I was reflecting on the “women collection for summer 2023” and I was looking for inspiration.
We walked a lot and talked in the alleys, it was warm but not too much, it was a peaceful and revitalizing weekend… The “slow life” that favors creation.
The colors of the city are soft, whitened by the sun and the sea. With the pictures I took, we have created 4 “azulejos” prints, subtle and authentic that are available on trousers, Bermuda pants, dresses, and tops. You will see, you can even distinguish the cracks in the walls and the vegetation, many testimonies of time passing more peacefully there than anywhere else.
But let’s get back to the topic in hand, and particularly to Sunday. I wish my dad — and all the others by the way — a very happy Father’s Day. For the occasion, to the ten first lucky devils who will order a Victoire polo shirt on our website (and only on the website), we offer a second polo shirt in a different color, isn’t that great?

Have a nice weekend and happy Father’s Day,
Camille.
