Lanificio Bottoli, from Italy with love!
As you know, at Victoire, we love Italy.
We love Italians, la pasta, la mamma… and above all, Italian fashion.
Yet, this morning, we are not going to talk fashion but sheep!
Every season, we create our “homemade” Victoire collection. This collection is our baby. It is the essence of our taste, our passion, our values… A little bit of Italy!
Looking for the best fabrics, we ended up in Veneto, at Lanificio Bottoli, a family business (like ours!) of Italian spinners since 1861.
Everything begins with sheep (it’s better to make wool!) and breeders who select fleeces, from white to deep brown by way of hazel, tobacco-brown or cocoa-brown. It is really this first selection that allows to find natural and deep shades for the fabric… Incredible, isn’t it?
The dye, the spinning, the warping, the weaving, the finish and the quality control, everything is done over there, in Italy. Then, their wools are exported in the workshops of the most prestigious stylists and tailors in the world… including our’s !
For our collection, the fabric always comes first, and it gives the tone and the inspiration. Then comes the (co) creation. Motives, colors, cut… Everything is a matter of style.
