At Victoire, we are against impulse buys. Except for the very good ones.
(Thesis/antithesis/synthesis. You have two hours.)
You need to be reasonable. Fashion is not disposable and pieces of clothing often bought in a rush pile up, take up a lot of space, or gather dust and, cherry on the hat, end up making you feel guilty.
How many times do you hear: “I don’t need anything,” “My closet is overflowing”, “I am going to think about it”?
Breaking news, my friends: if you need to think, it’s not a good sign. It’s the wrong way for sure, the bobble in your throat, the dental floss in the cheese fondue.
Fashion is an equation to solve. It’s a story about favourites, about wishes. It’s Fifty Shades of Grey, Sharon Stone uncrossing her legs in Emmanuelle’s rattan chair, in the with the hotness of Betty Blue. Caressing a fabric, wanting to put on this little jacket right away. Looking up, coming face to face with yourself and let the magic do its thing. Chabadabada, chabadabada.
Then, please, let’s think less! Let’s be impulsive, let’s follow our basic instinct. And, most of all, let’s remember that “life is too short to wear boring clothes.” And I would add: “… or that don’t fit you!”
And in the end, let’s congratulate ourselves: an impulsive buy that you wear again and again is mostly an excellent decision made very quickly!
Put your pens down. Have a nice weekend,
Camille
