Eurêka, Alléluia, it is (finally) here : The fragrance!

Eurêka, Alléluia, il est (enfin) là: le parfum

As always at Victoire, everything starts with a family story…

Place des Victoires. I was 5. I was with my mother, soothed by the 1980s energy and the sweet scent of pine trees from the Rigaud candles… Then, in the 1990s, Dad and Florence fell in love with Marrakech, where the orange blossom water is truly worshiped. It became our shops’ scent: a magical, joyful, lucky charm fragrance which, like our clothes, brings colours in the dullest days.

But let’s get back to my mother…
Perfumes are her passion (and her job). Two years ago, I naturally think about her to reinvent our “signature scent”. She introduced me to Isabelle Maillebiau. Born among noses, she became ours.

Our ambition: creating Victoire fragrances like our outfits. A chic base with our magical ingredient, the orange blossom water, mixed with a hint of character — this little twist — that makes us different.

From the start, the orange blossom water becomes neroli, subtler, more precious, nobler… The name neroli was coined by Marie-Anne de La Trémoille, one of the first “influencer” from the 17th century. She married the prince of Nerola, heir to the Orsini family whose large estate was full of orange trees. Our princess became quickly addicted to this essence of bitter orange: she wears it as perfume, she coats her gloves with it, or flavours her bath with it. Quickly, neroli is trending and it takes over European courts.

But lets gets back to the blossom at hand… We now need to find this little twist, this hint of character which, mixed with neroli, will become the fragrance that resembles us.

For the women version, it will be a Sicilian neroli combined with one of the most beautiful jasmines (the one from Kama in India), supported by a “nail polish” accord very modern, and very sensual and super feminine heart notes (white musk, iris).

And it’s only a beginning, the rest is coming… Candles, environment scents… and of course, the Victoire homme eau de parfum. “Come on let’s twist again…”
To be continued!

Have a nice weekend,
Camille
