Hello, can you introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Vanessa Barragão, and I’m originally from the south of Portugal. I was born in the coastal town Albufeira, where the ocean and nature have a significant impact. Growing up surrounded by my family, with the sea and natural landscapes always close by, these elements profoundly influenced my thoughts, vision, and passions. They remain a constant source of inspiration in everything I create.
What is your inspiration for Victoire? What is your connection to the brand?
My creative journey aligns closely with the philosophy of Victoire. Like Victoire, my work begins with observing the environment around me. Victoire follows its instinct in curating collections, and I also rely on my intuition and connection to nature to guide my creative process. Sustainability is a core value in my creations, just as Victoire is committed to exclusivity and authenticity.
I also see a parallel in the way Victoire mixes styles and clashes colors, challenging conventional fashion standards. My textile art embraces contrasts as well, using natural dyes and recycled materials to create bold, unique pieces. This idea of mixing and respecting individuality fits perfectly with my approach to design, where each piece is an exploration of texture, color, and sustainability.
