SAINT-TROPEZ

Douliou Douliou Saint-Tropez

May is upon us, and with it, plenty of lovely little long weekends to escape for. Second stop in Saint-Tropez. A charming little fishing village that we love in May, we're sharing our favorite chic and no-nonsense local spots, just like us!

INTRA-MUROS

A COFFEE AT THE SUBE

Start your day at the Sube with a coffee on the balcony to watch the yachts come and go or the night owls go to bed...

23 Quai du Bailli de Suffren - 83990 Saint-Tropez

AUTHENTICITY SHOT…

At La Pesquière, a village institution, you can enjoy stuffed vegetables, mussels au gratin, or the famous aioli at an affordable price while overlooking the legendary La Ponche district.

1 rue des remparts - 83990 Saint-Tropez

OUT OF LA TROPÉZIENNE!

And what if we forgot the famous tarte tropézienne to try the beautifully caramelized (or even burnt) fruit tarts from the Aux Deux Frères bakery - a discreet address to die for!

5 rue des Commerçants - 83990 Saint-Tropez

LET'S GO TO THE BEACH

ICONIC: CLUB 55

Founded by Geneviève De Colmont in 1955 for the film And God Created Woman, no less! A chic, no-nonsense family atmosphere and understated glamour... a rare find in the area.

43 boulevard Patch - 83350 Ramatuelle

WILD: SALINS BEACH

A preserved setting far from the hustle and bustle of Pampelonne. Enjoy lunch with your feet in the sand: grilled fish, wood-fired meats, pizzas, and pasta. Unpretentious cuisine in a heavenly setting.

LIKE AT HOME: AT JO'S

An institution that's been around since 1975. Located on the Layet naturist beach near Cavalière, you can enjoy bouillabaisse cooked over a wood fire, lobster, or grilled fish on the deck overlooking the beach. True luxury: making your entrance in your swimsuit by the sea.

AFTER BEACH: THE GRIMAUD HALL

And to extend the afternoon, to extend the afternoon and escape the hustle and bustle of Saint-Tropez life, head up to the Halle de Grimaud: open-air dance hall atmosphere, barbecues and tapas, improvised pétanque. DJ sets 6 days a week, to dance barefoot in the grass at sunset.

56 chemin de la Rine - 83310 Grimaud

LET'S FLEE! THE INSIDER'S CORNER

Need some fresh air and peace? Head to La Faucado, a lovely restaurant perched in La Garde-Freinet. It features a guinguette atmosphere and a shaded terrace, simple and fresh cuisine, and jazz evenings on Thursdays under the lanterns.

29 bd de l’Esplanade - 83680 La Garde-Freinet

STRONG THRILLS…

Nostalgia is guaranteed with a visit to Azur Parc - the good old Luna Park for the older generation. The famous amusement park of La Foux and "The Year of the Jellyfish." Even though the attractions have been updated, there's still the ghost train and the ice palace from my childhood!

Foux Crossroads - 83580 Gassin

TO GO...

K.JACQUES OR RONDINI…

That is the question! Two legendary houses of Saint-Tropez sandals... Rest assured, no fashion faux pas from either... So, which one will you choose to see you through the summer?

FISH SOUP FROM THE SAINT-TROPEZ FISH ...

I've been enjoying it since I was little and I always bring some back in my suitcase, it's super easy because it comes in a can. It gives a taste of vacation to my Parisian dinners... Don't forget the rouille and croutons that go with it... And the good grated comté!
